Libya Visa Details

This is an email I received for getting a visa for Libya. This is the process you follow, although I am not sure if it’s still the same.

1. A tour company approachs the immigration authority for an invitation to be sent

2. An invitation is sent to the Libyan People’s Bureau in your country. For the US, this is in Ottawa, Canada.

3. When the confirmation ahs been sent, you take your passport, two photographs, and fill in an application form for the visa.

4. Before you hand in your passport, make sure it has your passport information translated into Arabic and printed …

Exploring Libya

Here is an example of a 10 day itinerary in Libya

DAY 1: Arrival in Tripoli.

DAY 2: Flight to Sebha. It’s south of Libya, about 1.000 km. Afterwards, you drive to Serdalus (Alwynat). Then continue driving to Awais where the first of the pre-historical rock arts of 12,000 years ago started. There is dinner and camping.

12 Day Libya Trip

Here is one of many different Libya itineraries.

Day 1:TRIPOLI
Arrive in Tripoli.

Day 2: TRIPOLI – GASR AL-HAJ – NALUT – GHADAMES
Early morning on a paved road, we head southwest for the oasis of Ghadames. On the way make stops at Ghasr Al-Haj and Nalut of the Western Mountain Region. Late afternoon we arrive to Ghadames for the night.

Day 3: GHADAMES – AL-HAMADAH AL-HAMRAH
In the morning, we visit the ancient oasis of Ghadames (UNESCO World heritage), then in 4WD vehicles, we drive southeast heading for AL-Hamadah AL-Hamrah (The Red Plateau) as we begin our Sahara desert adventure.
